Blue Scrumpy left this review about Inn Time

Brinsworth appears to be a bit of a sprawling suburb of Rotherham. I was expecting this micropub to be the best of the 3 venues we were visiting. Situated on a parade of shops, with parking to the front, I quite liked the interior but the drinks selection was frankly disappointing.

On arrival, I noted that there were 2 handpulls without clips. I enquired with the landlord if any cask available but he replied that it didn't sell and the last time he tried putting any on, he ended up pouring most away after the same 9 days that was mentioned in the previous review. I guess that is fair enough, but I didn't buy his next comment that summer is the wrong time of year for cask ale.

The keg selection was Madri, Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropica, Cruzcampo, Stella Artois, Guinness, John Smith's, Stones Best Bitter, Aspall's & Healey's Rattler & Rattler Strawberry & Lime.

I'm really not sure if this pub is now called Inn Time or whether it remains Stop Inn Time. Either way, the theme is clocks and time with many types of clocks both on the ceilings and on the walls. A rather unusual feature was a set of what appeared to be DJ decks to the side of the bar with hundreds of LPs available. Music was playing during our visit. Stools are made out of kegs and there is a large outdoor seating area in a cabin-like structure to the rear.

Dogs are welcome. Children are banned. Apparently it's the wrong time of year for cask ales in Brinsworth but there were 3 decent local beers available in our previous bar at the Phoenix Sports & Social Club. The Chantry Iron & Steel Bitter I tried was in excellent form. That place is not listed on here but we had no problems gaining entry and it was packed out. I would recommend giving that a try if ever in Brinsworth.

Will Larter left this review about Stop Inn Time

We had planned this trip by bus out to Rotherham's newest micropub a few weeks beforehand, checking opening times on Facebook and WhatPub, so it was a surprise, to say the least, to find it not yet open when we walked from the bus stop. It turned out that later opening times in the early part of the week were because of building work going on in the back yard - more of a function room than a fag shelter, apparently. "It's on Facebook", the owner told us. Anyway, after making spaniel eyes at him for a couple of minutes, we were glad when he relented and let us in for a beer. (The next bus was an hour later, so we'd have made a pathetic sight, stood around outside.)

The interior is very smart and modern, with a clock theme justifying the clunky name above the window. (Doesn't "stop in" mean "not go out"?) There are four hand pumps on the bar (see photo), two dark ones and two pale; plus seven keg fonts, of which three were for ciders. There's also a large selection of spirits and one of the regulars popped in for a coffee while we were here. (So, not so much closed as open, then.) I asked how he got on with keeping four real ales when that was obviously not the main attraction, and he said they last up to nine days with the cask breather. We each tried three out of the four beers before our bus arrived, and they were all in very good nick. We'll probably be back some time, but will check the opening times again before boarding any buses.
